We are delighted to introduce our new Minutes & Membership Secretary – Mrs Lydia Murray.
Lydia grew up at Ellonby Hall and, after leaving school, moved away to study for a Master’s degree in Chemistry. In 2020, she returned to Cumbria and later moved back to Ellonby to take on the family farm. Since then, Lydia has been breeding pedigree Clun Forest and Charmoise Hill sheep alongside her husband, exhibiting them regularly at agricultural shows throughout the year.
Alongside farming, Lydia works for Cumberland Council as a Programme Control Officer in the Capital Works team, currently supporting the Carlisle Southern Link Road project. She has also been involved with the Cumbria Rare Breed Survival Trust group as Treasurer since 2022.
Lydia is delighted to be joining the team to support a show she has attended every year since she was a baby! In her role as Minutes & Membership Secretary, Lydia says she is looking forward to using her organisational skills to keep meetings running smoothly and to help promote and strengthen membership of the show.
Please join us in giving Lydia a very warm Skelton Show welcome!
