The Skelton Show Committee is delighted to announce that £2,165 has been raised for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), the Show’s chosen charity of the year – a cause that holds a special place in the hearts of many within the local farming community.

A total of £1,270 was raised through collections on show day at Skelton Show’s special 130th anniversary event in July, with a further £895 collected through a raffle at the Show’s annual dinner and dance.

More than 130 guests attended the recent celebration at the Roundthorn Hotel, Penrith, enjoying a three-course meal and dancing to the Jason Arnup Band. The raffle proved a great success, with prizes including afternoon tea for two at the Roundthorn Hotel and a hamper kindly provided by H+H.

Skelton Show Chairman Nina Oxley said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have raised £2,165 for MND. It’s a cause that is particularly close to our hearts and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated on show day, bought raffle tickets and supported our anniversary celebrations. It’s wonderful to see the Skelton Show community coming together to support such an important cause.”

The Committee would like to thank everyone who contributed to the fundraising effort, as well as those who generously donated raffle prizes and helped make the anniversary year so memorable.

Date for the diary: Skelton Show is on Saturday 3rd July in 2027!
