Skelton Show has been running since the late 1800’s and grown from a small local show held in the village to one of the major agricultural shows in Cumbria. It is now held on the first Saturday in July in the picturesque setting of the Old Park at Hutton in the Forest near Penrith (3 miles NW of M6 Jun 41)
The show has a large horticultural and industrial marquee and classes of cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, vintage vehicles, fur and feathered animals and Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling. With well over 150 trade stands, a gift and crafts tent, Skelton Food Hall, a wide variety of entertainment, music, food and bar it has a reputation for being a great day out in the country for all the family.
The Skelton Show is run by a committee of volunteers and exists to promote the interests of those engaged in horticulture, farming and agriculture by providing facilities for competition, the sharing of information and best practice.
Each year a new president is elected with the Chairman holding office for three years.
Proudly promoting all that is good about the countryside for over 130 years
As one of Cumbria’s oldest agricultural shows we are committed to promoting the interests of all those involved in agriculture and food production – why not volunteer and support us.
An event of this size is always looking for volunteers so if you would like to help us on show day please contact us
